Drug Shortage: Pharmaceutical Analyst Predicts Continuing Worsening Situation.

Media reports on the deteriorating supply crisis in the pharmaceutical market are increasing. Pharmacies no longer have many drugs, particularly generics, in stock. Another 300 are extremely scarce, including common ones such as blood pressure reducers, fever syrups for children, and many cancer therapy drugs (for example, tamoxifen).

“The situation will not change in 2023, but will rather worsen,” predicts Dr. Jobst Landgrebe, a licensed doctor and founder of Cognotekt, a specialized consulting firm for the medical and pharmaceutical industry. He has been observing market development for decades and sees two reasons for the ongoing dramatic intensification.
